CHARMAINE
Charmaine Nero is a multimedia journalist with a passion for working both behind and in front of the camera. She is currently studying for her Master of Science Degree at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York City. She shoots, edits, reports, composes and enterprises her own stories for Columbia News Tonight, a weekly broadcast. She gained valuable experience while earning a Journalism degree from Brooklyn College and attending the New York Film Academy for an intensive course in Broadcast and Digital Journalism.
She is a self-starter with an insatiable hunger to find the character in each story and build a news story through extensive images, footage and research. Charmaine covers everything from local news, sports, crime, court hearings, press conferences, and council meetings. She spends most of her free time keeping up-to-date on local, national and international news and writes for Examiner.com and her own personal blog. She enjoys seeking out the next “breaking” story and takes pride in every assignment she encounters.
She was recently accepted as the first NBA/Ticketmaster Fellow to cover the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend in New York City. Charmaine was also accepted to work alongside NABJ digital media professionals as a part of the Student Multimedia Project covering the National Convention in Minneapolis, MN in August of 2015.

Charmaine, this is beautiful and so are you! I wish you the best of luck in all of your endeavors. You have a fan here, and if I can assist you in any way, don’t hesitate to call.
